I’m American, living in Asia since 1972, based in Chiang Mai since 1988. My commercial work, research, writing and photography have been mostly with ethnic minorities of the region, like the Newars of Bhaktapur, Nepal, Mizos of Northeast India, the Akha in Thailand and the Yi, Naxi, Hani, Mosuo, Lisu and Dai in Yunnan, China, with more recent concentration on Vietnamese history and culture. I have published books in Nepal, Thailand, Singapore, China and Vietnam.
